Why are metal studs not allowed?

Created by Connor Sweeden, Modified on Mon, 17 Jun at 11:16 AM by Gary Jeffery

Metal studs are prohibited due to safety reasons. This is due to the increased risk of injury caused by someone standing on an opposing player whilst wearing metal studs. As Try Tag Rugby operates under the International Tag Federation rulebook, we are obliged to ensure players are not wearing metal studs, under section 3 of the ITF Rule book which can be found on our Rules page. Plastic moulded studs are however permitted, as well as astro turf boots. Players wearing metal studs will not be authorised to enter the pitch or play in official Try Tag Rugby leagues, Tournaments, or taster sessions.
